Other information:
"Assaying on the Internet" is the web presentation version of a paper presented April 26, 2001 to the Society of Mineral Analysts (SMA). Guest web master Patrick Braun (SMA) assisted by demonstrating "members only" features of the SMA web site.

The password secured features of the SMA web site (demonstrated by Patrick) are not part of this web tour. Patrick's demonstration covered the following:

  • A reminder that Society membership includes full access to "members only" features
  • How paid members may request and receive access to the members
  • Society membership benefits, including
    • Unlimited downloads from the Society's database of analytical procedures
    • Downloads of training guides (Patrick warned of long download times due to file sizes)
    • Downloads of audio and video from Conference presentations and training sessions (starting with the 2001 Conference)
Note: Society membership is inexpensive at $30 US for new members and $20 US /year for renewing members. Pricing provides affordable membership access and benefits  for all levels of assay technicians.
