Online Libraries:

• The Elko Public Library is my local library. In the U.S., you can often find the web address of your local library in Galaxy's directory of  United States Libraries. Don't underestimate the value of supporting and visiting your local library.
• Great Basin College Library is also located in Elko. The online catalogs and periodical lists of college libraries let you find books from the comfort of your home. When you arrange for membership, even smallest college can arrange interlibrary loans of books, magazines, and other resources unavailable on the internet.
• The Nevada Libraries Catalog allows browsing via telnet of library resources shared within Nevada.
• For a larger scope, try the Internet Public Library. (hosted by the School of Information at the  University of Michigan)
• The Electric Library is a pay site, but access is free for a 30 day trial.
• Bell & Howell's Information and Learning Center is a pay site, but they provide access to resources from over 8,000 publishers. Electronic access includes large collections of periodicals, newspapers, out-of-print books, scholarly files, and dissertations. Fees vary; some downloads can exceed 250 pages.
• The Online Computer Library Center is now limited to password access only. I'm not sure how you sign up now to get a password.
• The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world. Even though the online accessible portion is limited, they still have allot to offer.
• Northern Light's library is integrated in their search engine. It's Pay-as-you-read, but, if you need that "one special article," this may be the place.
• If you're looking for a really old book, Antique Books created a vast archive of old books in electronic format.
