Homework Central offers a wide, general listing of sites to help with kid's projects and homework
Ask Dr. Math offers a helpful Q&A service for K-12 students. You email a question and college math students email back the answer.
The Capitol Children's Museum offers sessions on science and chemistry sponsored by the Chemical Manufacturer's Association.
Chemistry tutorials are something I listed elswhere; the sites I've found are more advanced than I post on this page.
Cool Science for Curious Kids doesn't target above third grade, but the interactive learning gizmos and experiments are fun to check out.
The Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory has good information on energy issues, including a tutorial about photovoltaic cells.
Evolution is a science topic marked by poor comunication. Background information is found

in evolution review articles found in the archives of The Scientist magazine,
in a National Academy Press book on teaching about Evolution and the Nature of Science,

The Exploratorium's Learning Studio, magazine, Sport Science!, library archive, and assorted activities make it an ideal place to have fun and learn with science. (Note: this site is also an outstanding, Webby Award winning example of "how to do it right" in web site design.)
Math fun is a list of current software, some of it free for trial or download, which involves math problems.
Make-a-farm, by Owl Software is a free download that can either be used by younger kids to just create their own model farm (silo, barn, chicken coop, etc.) or by older kids to learn factors affecting farm economics. (Can you make it as a farmer?)
Non-Nerd's guide to Science is a great place for easy, fun science.
NASA's Space Science News is the best place to begin learning about science in space.
Space leads to thoughts of stars and astronomy. If you want to learn more, try these resources:

Stella 2000 is a shareware program you can download to view stars and learning astronomy.
NASA's Star Child site offers a little bit of everything on astronomy related subjects. (targeted ages: 4 to 14 yrs.)
Chicago's Adler Planitarium has great star viewing programs and an elborate web site. (However, the shockwave Java animation features take forever to download.)
Salt Lake City's Hansen Planitarium isn't as elaborate, but it is easier to browse.
Any of the hundreds of worldwide palatariums have good information.

Yahooligans offers many connections to fun science sites. The general Experiments and activities page provides links to fun science and ideas for science fair projects. Chemistry activities focuses on fun chemistry, while their search page on chemistry for kids features more structured learning.
Sometimes, learning to write about and communicate what you learn is as important as the knowledge you acquire. Microsoft's Creative Writer may help in this.

Remember, assume is a risky word in science. Think about what you see and read in science. Everything you learn is just the first step on the road to getting it right.
